Additional Suspect Sought in a Homicide: 1500 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an additional suspect in reference to a homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 4, 2020, in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.

 

At approximately 10:57 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

 

The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Antonio Gardiner, of Oxon Hill, MD.

 

On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

 

This case remains under investigation. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying an additional suspect that was captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos below:

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
