The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) is informing vendors about upcoming prohibitions and restrictions on parked vehicles and vending due to security measures for the 2024 North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Washington DC from July 8, 2024, through July 12, 2024.
The United States Secret Service (USSS) has assumed its mandated role as lead agency for the design and implementation of the operational security plan. The USSS, in partnership with HSEMA and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), will be establishing security perimeters around National Special Security Event (NSSE) venues. These restrictions will be in place for the following areas and time periods:
From 11 pm on Monday, July 8 to 6 am Wednesday, July 10:
- Constitution Avenue NW from 17th Street NW to 10th Street NW (East Side)
- 12th Street NW from Constitution Avenue NW to E Street NW
- 14th Street NW from Jefferson Drive SW to F Street NW
- 15th Street NW from Madison Drive NW to F Street NW
- Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 15th Street NW to 10th Street NW
From 11 pm on Monday, July 8 to 6 am on Friday, July 12:
- New York Avenue NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- Massachusetts Avenue NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- O Street NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- N Street NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- M Street NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- L Street NW from 11th Street NW to 6th Street NW
- K Street NW from 11th Street NW to O Street NW
- 10th Street NW from H Street NW to O Street NW
- 9th Street NW from I Street NW to O Street NW
- 7th Street NW from I Street NW to O Street NW
From 11 pm on Tuesday, July 9 to 6 am on Thursday, July 11:
- H Street NW from 18th Street NW to 14th Street NW
- Constitution Avenue NW from 18th Street NW to 14th Street NW
- 15th Street NW from Constitution Avenue NW to I Street NW
- 17th Street NW from Constitution Avenue NW to I Street NW
Please be advised that failure to comply with these restrictions will result in the towing and potential impoundment of any vehicle(s) or property found in violation of the prohibitions in the aforementioned locations during the specified time periods. Vendors licensed in the District of Columbia are however permitted to vend in any other legal vending zone (mobile and stationary as appropriate) for the days these restrictions are in place.
