The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest has been made in the armed robbery of an establishment in the Fourth District.
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 7:23 p.m., the suspect entered an establishment in the 5700 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from an employee. The employee complied to the suspect’s demands. The suspect then fled the scene.
Through the quick response of MPD personnel, the suspect was located nearby, stopped, and identified.
23-year-old Jimmy Ridgell of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
