(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce arrests have been made in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, November 26, 2022, in the 1300 block of South Carolina Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 7:53 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The victim complied. The suspect then gave the victim their property back. Both suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle. A short time later, the suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
On Saturday, November 26, 2022, 20-year-old Deangelo Dwight Richardson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Gun). Additionally, 21 year-old Jabrea Young, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Fleeing from Law Enforcement and No Permit.
Investigations by Carjacking Task Force Detectives led to Richardson being charged with the below offenses.
Simple Assault/Theft One Stolen Auto:
- On Saturday, May 28, 2022, at approximately 4:42 pm, two suspects approached the victim in the 100 block of H Street, NE. The suspects assaulted the victim and then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. CCN: 22-075205
Armed Robbery:
In the below offenses, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects then fled the scene.

- On Thursday, November 10, 2022, at approximately 9:18 pm, in the Unit block of U Street, NW. CCN: 22-164288
- On Thursday, November 10, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm, in the 300 block of K Street, SE. CCN: 22-164304
- On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at approximately 10:34 pm, in the 500 block of 5th Street, NE. CCN: 22-165340
- On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at approximately 10:41 pm, in the 400 block of G Street, NE. CCN: 22-165337
- On Friday, November 18, 2022, at approximately 11:51 pm, in the 2100 block of Flagler Place, NW. CCN: 22-168508
Armed Carjacking:
In the below offenses, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

- On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at approximately 6:44 pm, in the 1000 block of 4th Street, NE. CNN: 22-101000
- On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at approximately 6:46 pm, in the 1100 block of 6th Street, NE. CCN: 22-101001
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun):
On Saturday, July 30, 2022, at approximately 11:09 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 200 block of E Street, NE. One of the victims brandished a firearm and pointed it in the direction of the victim. The suspects then fled the scene. There were no injuries reported. CCN: 22-109206
These arrests were due to the concerted efforts and quick actions of Metropolitan Police Detectives and Officers.
These cases remain under investigation.
