The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in an assault in Southeast.
On Friday, November 14, 2025, at approximately 10:13 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 3700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, for the report of an assault. A victim attempted to stop a suspect who entered an establishment and took property. The suspect assaulted the victim with a bottle, causing minor injuries, and destroyed the windshield of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect continued their assault by throwing a bottle at a woman, causing minor injuries. Officers arrived on the scene during the assault and arrested the suspect.
As a result of the detective's investigation, 34-year-old William James Crist of Southeast, DC, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Bottle), Simple Assault, and Destruction of Property.
