Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests made in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

 

Fourth District:

 

  • On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 17 year-old Brandon Ward, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged as an adult for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in the 4800 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest. CCN 20-070042.
    • At approximately 6:00 pm, two suspects approached the victims at the listed location while they were sitting in a vehicle.  One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property.  The victims complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.  This case remains under investigation.

 

Sixth District:

 

  • On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, 35 year-old Kenneth Gray, Jr, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, May 3, 2020, in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-067-051
    • At approximately 6:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property.  The suspect then fled the scene.

 

  • On Friday, May 15, 2020, pursuant to DC Superior Court arrest warrants, 40 year-old Anthony Owens, of Northwest, DC and 40-year-old George Belk of Southeast, DC, were arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery (Gun) offense, and 22-year-old Johnnie Burke, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Unlawful Possession of a Firearm offense that occurred on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in the 1300 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast. CCN 20-059-267
    • At approximately 9:00 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location after hearing the sounds of gunshots.  Two adult males were later located at local hospitals receiving treatment from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.  The detective’s investigation revealed that the assault occurred during the attempted commission of a robbery.  This case remains under investigation.

 

Seventh District:

 

  • On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old Marquise McFadden, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in the 500 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast. CCN: 19-128-750
    • At approximately 2:29 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a knife and demanded property from the victim. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
