Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announce arrests have been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, March 13, 2020, in the 3600 block of 12th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 9:57 pm, several subjects were engaged in a verbal altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, gunshots were fired. An adult male and an adult female, who were inside a vehicle, were struck by the gunfire. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Two suspects were apprehended by responding officers. One handgun was recovered at the scene.
On Friday, March 13, 2020, 29 year-old Ronald Hobby, of Fredericksburg, VA, and 30 year-old DeAnthony Cloyd, of Lothian, MD, were both arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) in reference to this offense.
This case remains under investigation.
