Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault With Intent to Kill while Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2020, in the 2600 block of Birney Place, Southeast.
At approximately 8:00 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
On Monday, January 27, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 21 year-old Mykell Vicente, of Fort Washington, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault With Intent to Kill while Armed (Gun).
