**Rerelease** Suspect Wanted in a Homicide: 800 Block of R Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in the 800 block of R Street, Northwest.

 

At approximately 8:16 pm, members of the Third District responded to the report of sounds of gunshots at the listed location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threating injuries. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

 

The decedent has been identified as 46 year-old Paul Williams, Jr., of Southeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public's assistance in locating 37 year-old Juvon Julian Searles, of No Fixed Address. Searles is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder While Armed in the fatal shooting of Paul Williams, Jr. Juvon Julian Searles is described as a 37 year-old black male, 6’1” tall, 249 pounds, medium complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. Searles, who can be seen in the picture below, should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
