The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in a shooting that occurred in Northwest.
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at approximately 4:31 a.m., Third District officers were in the area of 10th and U Streets, Northwest when they heard the sound of gunshots. Officers located an adult male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, 30-year-old Delonte Brown of Northeast, D.C. was quickly located and arrested. He was in possession of an unregistered firearm. He is being charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
