MPD’s police districts are organized into Police Service Areas (PSAs), to which patrol officers are assigned. Each PSA is headed by a lieutenant who is overseen, in turn, by a captain in charge of several PSAs. There are nine PSAs in the Fourth District.
The Fifth District covers much of the Northeast quadrant of the city. It encompasses an interesting and diverse mix of neighborhoods, including Brookland, Ivy City, Trinidad, and Woodridge. 5D is also home to several District of Columbia landmarks, including the National Arboretum.
