PHONE THEFT PROTECTION TIPS:  Hold It Tight. Keep It Yours.

A few simple habits can reduce your risk of phone theft and help you stay one step ahead of opportunistic grab-and-go attempts.

  • Don't Make it accessible.
Keep your phone in a front pocket, zipped bag, or a crossbody bag worn in front.
  • Keep it covered.
Avoid holding your phone while walking—especially near exits and escalators.
  • Use its build-in security features.
Turn on passcodes/Face ID and device tracking before heading out.
  • Stay alert.
Bumps, distractions, sudden commotions—or someone offering
to “take your photo”—may be theft attempts, especially in crowds.
  • Put it away when you leave.
Never leave your phone, purse, or bag unattended.
