On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at approximately 12:21 am, Mr. Jonathan Simmons-Miller was stabbed and killed in the 700 block of V Street, NW. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this homicide.
Academy training for recruit officers lasts approximately 37 weeks. MPD recruit officers complete a full program of classroom, scenario, physical, and tactical training to prepare them for the challenges of being a police officer.
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 3:20 pm, Mr. Charles Granger was stabbed and killed in the 4600 block of B Street, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this homicide.
