Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 100 Block of New York Avenue, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, May 21, 2020, in the 100 block of New York Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 10:46 am, the suspect and victim were engaged in an altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife towards the victim. The suspect was apprehended on scene. There were no injuries reported.

On Thursday May 21, 2020, 44 year-old Keisha Sherrell Newell, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
