TRAFFIC ADVISORY: 25th Anniversary Memorial Service for the Line of Duty Deaths at the Henry J. Daly Building

On Friday, November 22, 2019, the “25th Anniversary Memorial Service for the Line of Duty Deaths at the Henry J. Daly Building” will take place in the District of Columbia. The Metropolitan Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations will honor MPD Sergeant Henry (Hank) Daly and FBI Special Agents Michael John Miller and Martha Dixon Martinez, whom were killed in the line of duty inside of MPD Headquarters on November 22, 1994 by a lone gunman. The ceremony will take place at 10:00 am at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial located at 450 F Street, Northwest, Washington, DC 20001.

 

In conjunction with this event, there will be a street closure that motorists should take into consideration:

The following street will be posted as Emergency No Parking:

Friday, November 22, 2019 at 6:00 am to 12:30 pm

 

  • F Street NW, Between 4th Street and 5th Street NW

 

The following street will be closed:

Friday, November 22, 2019 at 9:15 am to 12:30 pm

 

  • F Street NW, Between 4th Street and 5th Street NW

 

Streets will reopen to traffic at approximately 12:30 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019.

 

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

 

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

 

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
