MPD’s Weekly Firearm Recoveries: September 23, 2019 to September 30, 2019

 

Every day, the Metropolitan Police Department works to recover and investigate illegal firearms in Washington D.C. In addition to our patrol officers, the Department has specialized units—such as the Gun Recovery Unit (GRU), Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU), and Crime Suppression Teams (CSTs)—who work tirelessly to safely and respectfully secure illegal firearms and get them off of our streets. From Monday, September 23, 2019, through Monday, September 30, 2019, MPD detectives and officers recovered 33 firearms in the District of Columbia.

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

• A Glock 21 .45 caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 4500 block of Quarles Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-170-304

 

 

 

• A North American Arms Richardson Derringer .25 caliber revolver was recovered in the 400 block of 4^th Street, Southwest.  CCN: 19-170-310

 

• A Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver was recovered in the 2500 block of 14^th Street, Northeast.  The following person was arrested: 21-year-old Amia Sadalah, of Northeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Unlawful Possession Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.  CCN: 19-170-773

 

• A Kel-tec P11 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 3300 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast.  The following person was arrested: 27-year-old Deangelo Evens, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License and Parole Violation.  CCN: 19-170-712

 

Wednesday, September 25, 2019

• A Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun and a FNH USA FNX-40 .40 caliber handgun (both pictured below) were recovered in the 500 block of Edgewood Street, Northeast.  CCN: 19-171-121

 

  

 

• A Berretta 1934 .380 caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Southeast.  The following person was arrested: 19-year-old Kareem Howard, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.  CCN: 19-171-229

 

 

 

• A Glock 37 .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 4900 block of Central Avenue, Northeast.  The following person was arrested: 37-year-old Anqoine Jerome Chambers, of Northeast, D.C., for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Destruction of Property.  CCN: 19-171-091

 

Thursday, September 26, 2019

• A Dan Wesson Arms .357 caliber revolver (pictured below) was recovered in the 200 block of Savannah Street, Southeast.  The following people were arrested: 33-year-old Antonio Javon Johnson, of Southeast, D.C., 27-year-old Dominique Peterson, of Northeast, D.C., and 31-year-old Allen Brown, of Northwest, D.C., for Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.  CCN: 19-171-893

 

 

 

 

• A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 3000 block of 14^th Street, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 20-year-old Jonathan Markel Groom, of Northwest, D.C., for Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Failure to Register Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Possession of Implements of a Crime, and Receiving Stolen Property.  CCN: 19-171-562

 

• A Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun was recovered in the 3500 block of Park Place, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 18-year-old Jaime Maceo, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, No Permit, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.  CCN: 19-171-746

 

• A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 1200 block of Delafield Place, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 18-year-old Brian Izael Ferrufino, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Receiving Stolen Property.  CCN: 19-172-036

 

• A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 2800 block of 14^th Street, Northwest.  The following people were arrested: 31-year-old Latoya Evans, of Northwest, D.C., and 32-year-old William Devon Boykin, of Hyattsville, MD, for Felon in Possession, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Obstructing Justice.  CCN: 19-171-921

 

• A Ruger LCR .22 caliber revolver was recovered in the 100 block of Yuma Street, Southeast.  The following person was arrested: 22-year-old Tyree Young, of Southeast, D.C., for Felon in Possession, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Receiving Stolen Property and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. • A Taurus TH9 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 400 block of Mellon Street, Southeast.  The following person was arrested: 24-year-old Jerome Joseph Smith, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol.  CCN: 19-172-166

• A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .380 caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 3500 block of Ames Street, Northeast.  The following people were arrested: 42-year-old Jovan Andre Hill, of Hyattsville, MD, and 44-year-old Christopher Jones, of Northeast, D.C., for Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.  CCN: 19-172-933

 

 

 

• A SCCY CPX-2 9mm caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 5500 block of Central Avenue, Southeast.  The following people were arrested: 27-year-old David Robinson, of Northeast, D.C., and 21-year-old Anton Jyani Peoples, of Southeast, D.C., for Distribution of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.  CCN: 19-172-964
