Arrest Made in an Assault with Intent to Rob While Armed (Gun) Offense: 4300 Block of South Capitol Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District announce an arrest has been made in an Assault with Intent to Rob while Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, December 23, 2022, in the 4300 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 9:50 am, two suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and attempted to take the victims’ property. A struggle ensued causing the suspect’s handgun to discharge. The suspect was struck by the gunfire. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers and the suspect’s handgun was recovered. The other suspect fled the scene. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

 

On Friday, December 23, 2022, 32-year-old Vincent Williams of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Rob, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Unregistered Ammunition, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
