Arrest Made and Additional Suspects Sought in an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) Offense: 800 Block of H Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in the 800 block of H Street, Northeast.

At approximately 12:07 am, the victim and the suspect were engaged in a verbal dispute, inside of an establishment, at the listed location. During the dispute, the suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victim multiple times. The second suspect assaulted the victim. The third suspect recovered the handgun that was used during the offense. The suspects then fled the scene. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, February 28, 2019, 26 year-old Delonte Wesley Rouse, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

This case remains under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a shooting committed in the District of Columbia.
