The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in an armed robbery in Northwest.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., the victim and the suspect were involved in a two-vehicle collision in the 600 block of 12th Street, Northwest. When the victim exited their vehicle to exchange vehicle information, a verbal altercation occurred. The suspect brandished a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded the victim’s phone. After taking the victim’s phone, the suspect fled from the scene on foot.
On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 24-year-old Diego Hernandez of Northwest, D.C., was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Gun).
