TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Women’s March 2020

On Saturday, January 18, 2020, the Women’s March 2020 will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking for the event from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

 

  • 17th Street between H Street NW and Independence Avenue, SW
  • Constitution Avenue between 18th Street and 15th Street, NW
  • 15th Street between H Street, NW and Constitution Avenue, NW
  • H Street between 17th and 15th Street, NW
  • E Street from 14th Street, NW to 13th Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 15th Street, NW to 12th Street, NW
  • 13th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

 

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 9:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

 

  • 17th Street between I Street and Independence Avenue, SW
  • C Street between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • D Street between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • E Street between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • F Street between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • G Street between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • H Street between 18th and 14th Streets, NW
  • New York Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets, NW
  • Constitution Avenue, NW between 18th Street and 14th Street, NW
  • 15th Street between K Street, NW and Madison Drive, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue between 14th and 15th Streets, NW and 18th to 17th Streets, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue between18th to 17th Streets, NW
  • E Street between 14th Street and 15th Street, NW
  • F Street between 14th Street and 15th Street, NW
  • G Street between 14th Street and 15th Street, NW
  • New York Avenue between 14th Street and 15th Street, NW
  • Vermont Avenue from I Street to H Street, NW
  • 16th Street from I Street, NW to H Street, NW (except hotel traffic)
  • Connecticut Avenue from I Street, NW to H Street, NW

 

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

 

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

 

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
