TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Women’s March 2020

On Saturday, January 18, 2020, the Women’s March 2020 will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking for the event from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

 

• 17^th Street between H Street NW and Independence Avenue, SW

• Constitution Avenue between 18^th Street and 15^th Street, NW
• 15^th Street between H Street, NW and Constitution Avenue, NW
• H Street between 17^th and 15^th Street, NW
• E Street from 14^th Street, NW to 13^th Street, NW
• Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 15^th Street, NW to 12^th Street, NW
• 13^th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

 

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 9:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

 

• 17^th Street between I Street and Independence Avenue, SW
• C Street between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW
• D Street between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW
• E Street between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW
• F Street between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW
• G Street between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW
• H Street between 18^th and 14^th Streets, NW
• New York Avenue between 17^th and 18^th Streets, NW

• Constitution Avenue, NW between 18^th Street and 14^th Street, NW
• 15^th Street between K Street, NW and Madison Drive, NW

• Pennsylvania Avenue between 14^th and 15^th Streets, NW and 18^th to 17^th Streets, NW
• Pennsylvania Avenue between18^th to 17^th Streets, NW
• E Street between 14^th Street and 15^th Street, NW
• F Street between 14^th Street and 15^th Street, NW

• G Street between 14^th Street and 15^th Street, NW
• New York Avenue between 14^th Street and 15^th Street, NW
• Vermont Avenue from I Street to H Street, NW
• 16^th Street from I Street, NW to H Street, NW (except hotel traffic)
• Connecticut Avenue from I Street, NW to H Street, NW

 

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

 

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

 

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
