TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Funeral Procession for Sergeant Anthony Oglesby, Jr.

On Friday, December 27, 2019, the Funeral Procession for Sergeant Anthony Oglesby, Jr., who worked for the Naval District of Washington Police, will take place in the North East section of the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this funeral and procession, there will be several rolling street closures that motorists should take into consideration along with Funeral Emergency No Parking Restrictions:

Emergency No Parking Locations – Upper Room Baptist Church 60 Burns Street, NE

Emergency No Parking Signs (ENP) will be posted along the unit block of Burns Street, NE with Funeral Emergency No Parking restrictions between 0800-1100 hours.

Rolling Street Closures

The following streets will be closed from 1100 hours to 1200 hours:

START: Upper Room Baptist Church – 60 Burns Street, NE

Proceed North on Burns Street, NE to Blaine Street, NE

Proceed West onto Blaine Street, NE

Proceed in a Northeast direction onto Minnesota Avenue, NE to Sheriff Road, NE

Proceed Eastbound on Sheriff Road, NE to the DC/MD Line

Maryland State Police and P.G. County Police PD will continue with the funeral procession to

National Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery – 7101 Sheriff Road, Hyattsville, Md.

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
