Suspect Sought in an Assault on a Police Officer while Armed (Knife) Offense: 2800 Block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast.

 

At approximately 2:56 pm, the suspect engaged in a physical altercation with the victim, who is a Special Police Officer, at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
