The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation revealed that on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at approximately 5:44 a.m., a pedestrian using a wheelchair was attempting to cross the intersection of 8th Street and Florida Avenue, Northwest, while outside the designated pedestrian crosswalk.
A black sedan traveling eastbound in the 800 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest, struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced.
The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Brianna Anderson, of no fixed address.
