Information Sought in an Armed Robbery (Gun) Offense: 4500 Block of Polk Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District seek the public’s assistance in locating a dog stolen in an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the 4500 block of Polk Street, Northeast

 

At approximately 10:30 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s dog. The victim complied. As the suspect ran from the scene the victim ran after the suspect. The suspect discharged the handgun in the direction of the victim and fled the scene with the victim’s dog. The victim was not injured.

 

The dog is described as a 5 month-old female Pitbull mix. She is brindle in color with a white spot on her chest. She goes by the name “Genesis”. The dog can be seen in the photo below:

 

 

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
