Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

First District:

· On Saturday, January 19, 2019, a 17-year-old juvenile female, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Friday, January 18, 2019, in the 300 block of H Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-010-542

o At approximately 11:18 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene.

Third District:

· On Saturday, January 19, 2019, 27-year-old Daris Hatch and 30-year-old Rodney Barnes, both of Northwest, DC, were arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Saturday, January 19, 2019, in the 1800 block of 7th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-010-852

o At approximately 3:36 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene.

Fifth District:

· On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old Daryl Gillis, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, September 17, 2018, in the 1200 block Meigs Place, Northeast. CCN: 18-156-862

o At approximately 1:44 pm, three suspects approached the victims at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property. The victims complied. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

· On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, a 17-year-old juvenile female, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, January 10, 2019, in the 1200 block of Neal Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-006-085

o At approximately 8:38 pm, the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal dispute at the listed location. During the dispute, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property. Two other suspects approached the victim, assaulted him, and took his property. When the victim attempted to flee the scene, two additional suspects assaulted him. This case remains under investigation.

Sixth District:

· On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 50-year-old Marie Monroe, of no fixed address, was arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Monday, June, 25, 2018, in the 1800 block of Q Street, Southeast. CCN: 18-103-480

o At approximately 11:01 am, the suspect and victim were engaged in a dispute at the listed location. The suspect took the victim’s property then fled the scene.

· On Thursday, January 24, 2019, 24-year-old Joey Coleman, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the 5900 block of Foote Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-009-784

o At approximately 8:39 pm, the victim and the suspect were engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. During the dispute, the suspect brandished a handgun and took property from the victim. The suspect then fled the location.

· On Thursday, January 24, 2019, a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the 600 block of Anacostia Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 19-009-772

o At approximately 7:45 pm, six suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
