Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce arrests have been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Offenses that occurred on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in the 1000 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast.
At approximately 5:57 pm, two suspects were involved in an altercation at the listed location. As a result of the altercation, both suspects produced firearms and discharged them at each other. A third armed suspect also discharged a firearm. The third suspect fled the scene. The other suspects are receiving treatment at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 26 year-old Raymond Queen, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Additionally, 35 year-old Deion Gassaway, Sr., of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
This case remains under investigation.
