Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Offense: 700 Block of 4th Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon offense that occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2019, in the 700 block of 4^th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 4:41 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect struck the victim with a blunt object. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, December 26, 2019, 40 year-old Omar Spriggs, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
