Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth and Sixth Districts and Agents from the FBI’s Washington Field Office have announced an arrest has been made in Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offenses at the following locations:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun): On Friday, September 18, 2019, in the 4800 block of Texas Avenue, Southeast, at approximately 10:01 am, the suspect brandished a handgun, at the listed location, and shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. CCN: 19-166-376
- Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm/Destruction of Property: On Sunday, September 22, 2019, in the 4500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, at approximately 7:01 pm, two suspects fired handguns and struck the victim’s property at the listed location. CCN: 19-169-341
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun)/ Destruction of Property: On Monday, October 7, 2019, in the 1600 block of D Street, Northeast, at approximately 4:41 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. The investigation at the scene revealed that the suspect’s and victim’s vehicle were in motion. Occupants inside the suspect’s vehicle fired shots at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 19-179-298
On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 25 year-old Ramone O’Neal, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with the above offenses.
