MPD Arrests Suspect in Southeast Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 300 block of Anacostia Road, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male inside of the location, unconscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital, where, after all lifesaving measures failed, he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Franck Foute Mohdjiom, of Southeast, DC.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court booking order, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit responded to DC Jail and arrested 35-year-old Richard Holmes, of Southeast, DC. Holmes was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed – Felony Murder.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
