The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 3700 block of 9th Street, Southeast, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old Marquis Jenkins of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with A Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
