Circumstance:

Officer Swanson was on perimeter guard for a barricade situation at 506 First Street, SE. Tear gas was fired into the house and the suspect came running out of the house, firing wildly. A bullet struck Officer Swanson in the forehead, causing his death.

The suspect was wounded and captured. He stated, "I just did it for some fun!"
