Officer Killed in the Line of Duty

Date of Death: November 5, 1889

Circumstance:

While outside a pool hall, George Bush shot Mr. Massey three times and walked away. Officer Crippen heard the shots and ran to the scene in time to see George Bush fleeing up Eleventh Street. Officer Crippen was too fast for Bush, causing him to flee inside a saloon. Bush reloaded his revolver and fled upstairs with Officer Crippen in hot pursuit.
