Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, February 7, 2019, in the 1700 block of Gales Street, Northeast.
At approximately 11:07 am, three suspects approached the victims at the listed location. During this encounter, a dispute ensued. One of the suspects brandished a knife and stabbed one of the victims. The suspects then fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 27-year-old Tyrelle Deonte Simon, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
