Building Positive Life Outcomes for DC’s Youth
“There is nothing more important to me than the safety and well-being of our youth. Our goal is to prevent offenses and disrupt the cycle that often leads young people into a life of crime, ensuring a brighter future for our communities.”
-Chief Pamela A. Smith
Metropolitan Police Department
The needs of the District of Columbia’s young people, identified from research and feedback from our communities, are the key drivers in informing the development of the Youth and Family Engagement Division’s (YFED) programming and continuously shape MPD’s goals and priorities.
YFED, along with the Police Activity League (DC PAL) and the DC Police Foundation, offers a variety of programs for DC youth.
