MPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal Southeast shooting.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at approximately 9:57 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of 18th Street, Southeast, for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located a man with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Dionte Alexander, of Southeast.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
