MPD Arrests Suspect in Multiple Robberies in Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announce the arrest of a suspect involved in multiple robberies in Northeast.

 

On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 4:54 a.m., the victim was at a gas station in the 900 block of Brentwood Road, Northeast. The suspect approached the victim and solicited money. When the victim refused to give money to the suspect, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle. A struggle ensued inside the vehicle between the victim and the suspect. The suspect snatched the victim’s phone and fled the scene on foot. Fifth District officers searching the area, located and arrested the suspect.

 

36-year-old Michael Allen Hines, of Southeast, was charged with Robbery. CCN: 24046351

 

As a result of the detective’s investigation, Hines was also charged with two other Robbery offenses.

 

On Friday, March 22, 2024, at 12:45 a.m., the victim was at a gas station in the 400 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast, when the suspect approached him and snatched a credit card. A physical altercation ensued, and the suspect brandished a knife. The suspect fled with the victim’s credit card. Armed Robbery. CCN: 24043138

 

On March 24, 2024, at 5:21 a.m., the victim was at a gas station in the 900 block of Brentwood Road, Northeast, when the suspect brandished a knife and approached the victim while demanding keys to their vehicle. When the victim refused, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole property before fleeing the scene. Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery while Armed. CCN: 24044233
