Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District have arrested two people and recovered a stolen gun after officers on patrol witnessed a person firing a gun out of an apartment window.
On August 8, 2023, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers in the Sixth District were on patrol when they heard gunshots and observed a woman shooting out of a third story apartment window in the 300 block of Anacostia Road, Southeast. Officers immediately called for backup, established a perimeter to ensure neighborhood safety, and approached the apartment. Once inside, officers detained the two adults in the apartment. Children were also present. A firearm and ammunition were recovered and seized as evidence. The firearm was later determined to be stolen.
21-year-old Dominique Massenberg, and 28-year-old Demarco Wynn, both of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with multiple Firearm-related felonies, Receiving Stolen property, and Second-Degree Cruelty to Children.
