Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 2700 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, May 28, 2020, in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.

At approximately 8:08 pm, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. No injuries were reported.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, 44 year-old Kisha Newell, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
