Stay Cool. Stay Safe.

Extreme temperatures can sneak up fast, so taking small preventive steps can protect your health and help you stay comfortable throughout the day.

  • Stay hydrated.
Drink water often and avoid strenuous activity during peak heat.
  • Dress appropriately.
Wear light, loose clothing; use sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.
  • Cool down regularly.
Use cooling towels or misting sprays when possible
  • Take breaks from the sun.
Step into the shade or air conditioning; never leave people or pets in parked cars.
  • Check on others.
Check on vulnerable individuals and know signs of heat illness. If someone shows symptoms, move them to a cool place and seek medical help if needed.
