Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department announced that several arrests have been made in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC. 

First District:

  • On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, 18-year-old Abu Monroe of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery Snatch offense, which occurred in the 700 block of 3rd Street, Northwest.  CCN: 16-141-941
    • On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at approximately 8:15 pm, the suspect approached the victim, snatched her phone, and then fled. 

Third District:

  • On Saturday, August 20, 2016, a 22-year-old male and 22-year-old Winston Wright, of Northwest, DC, were arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Gun) offense, which occurred in the 700 block of Girard Street, Northwest. CCN: 16-139-991
    • On Saturday, August 20, 2016 at approximately 5:50 pm, the victim was approached by both suspects.  One suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property.  The suspects went through the victim’s pockets and took US currency.
  • On Saturday, August 20, 2016, 24-year-old Rafael Tavarez of Northwest, DC was arrested for a Robbery Force and Violence offense, which occurred in the 3300 block of 14th Street, Northwest.  CCN: 16-140-171
    • On Saturday, August 20, 2016, at approximately 12:00 am, the suspect approached the victim, demanded property, and then assaulted the victim.  The subject fled with the victim’s property. 

Fourth District:

  • On Thursday, August 25, 2016, 40-year-old Jose Leonidez Chavez of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery Snatch offense, which occurred in the 3900 block of 14th Street, Northwest.  CCN: 16-136-039
    • On Sunday, August 14, 2016, at approximately 12:45 pm, the suspect approached the victim and snatched US currency from the victim’s hand and fled.
  • On Saturday, August 20, 2016, a juvenile male of Northeast, DC, a juvenile male of Northwest, DC, and a juvenile male of Temple Hills, Maryland, were arrest for an Attempt Robbery offense, which occurred in the 100 block of U Street, Northwest.  CCN: 16-139-601
    • On Saturday, August 20, 2016 at approximately 2:47 am, three suspects approached the victim. The suspects walked with the victim and then demanded his property.  The victim refused. The victim then ran from the suspects and called police.

Fifth District:

  • On Friday, August 19, 2016, a juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for a Robbery (Snatch) offense which occurred in the 1200 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast.  CCN: 16-133-419
    • On, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at approximately 3:00 pm, the victim met with the suspect in order to sell the suspect an iPhone.  When the victim displayed the phone, the suspect snatched it from her hand and fled the scene on foot.  
  • On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, 25-year-old Miciala Richmond, of Oxon Hill, MD, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for a Robbery (Knife) offense which occurred in the 1600 block of New York Avenue, Northeast.  CCN: 16-117-263 
    • On, Thursday, July 14, 2016 at approximately 2:00 am, the victim was in his hotel room when he was robbed at knife point of his personal items and U.S. currency.  The suspects fled the scene in an awaiting vehicle.  This case remains under investigation.
  • On Thursday, August 25, 2016, 28-year-old Vincent Cherry, of District Heights, MD, and 37-year-old Demetrius Hunter, of Northeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense which occurred in the unit block of Bates Street, Northeast.  CCN: 16-139-659
    • On, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at approximately 1:30 am, the victim was getting into her vehicle when she was approached by two suspects.  One of the suspects ordered the victim to give up her money and began assaulting her.  Taken was a bag containing personal items.  The suspects then fled on foot.   

Sixth District:

  • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 29-year-old Onrii Oluseun Ogunkile of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery Force and Violence offense that occurred in the 4100 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.  CCN: 15-134-131
    • On Thursday, August 27, 2015, the suspect approached the victim, demanded property, and then assaulted the victim.  The suspect then fled with the victim’s property.
  • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 23-year-old William Winter of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery Snatch offense, which occurred in the 4100 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast.  CCN: 16-067-889
    • On Saturday, April 30, 2016, the suspect approached the victim and grabbed her purse as she was pumping gas. The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s purse.
  • On Friday, August 19, 2016, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 27-year-old Phiero Xavier Millhouse of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery Snatch offense that occurred in the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast.  CCN: 16-045-982
    • On Friday, March 25, 2016, the suspect took US currency from the victim as the victim was sleeping. 
  • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, a juvenile male of Northeast, DC was arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Gun) offense, which occurred in the 200 block of 44th Street, Northeast.  CCN: 16-142-095
    • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at approximately 2:00 am, the suspect approached the victim, assaulted the victim, and then brandished a handgun.  The suspect fled with a phone and headphones.
  • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, a juvenile male of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Knife) offense, which occurred in the 500 block of 55th Street, Northeast.  CCN: 16-124-770
    • On Wednesday, June 27, 2016 at approximately 3:12 pm, four suspects approached the victim while passing around a knife.  The suspect took the victims backpack, went through the contents, took out personal property, and then fled. The case remains under investigation.

Seventh District:

  • On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, a juvenile male , of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Gun) offense, which occurred in the 1200 block of U Street, Southeast.  CCN: 16-134-208
    • On Thursday, August 11, 2016, at approximately 2:33 pm, two suspects approached the victim, brandished handguns, and demanded his property.  The victim complied and both suspects fled with the victim’s property. This case remains under investigation.
  • On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 42-year-old Alphonzo Calhoun of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Knife) offense, which occurred in the 3400 block of Stanton Road, Southeast.  CCN: 16-135-426
    • On Saturday, August 13, 2016 at approximately 11:40 am, the suspect approached the victim from behind, brandished a knife, and demanded US currency.  The suspect took US currency from the victim’s pocket.  The suspect then took the victim to a residence and demanded money from a resident inside while holding the knife.  The other victim complied and gave the suspect US currency.  The suspect then fled the location.
