On Saturday, January 21, 2006, at approximately 3 am, a victim was assaulted in the 2300 block of 18th Street, NW. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Marc Jonathan Ficarra, of the 600 block of Romford Drive in Hyattsville, Maryland, was admitted to the Washington Hospital Center in critical condition until his death. He was pronounced dead at 12:45 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2006. Reportedly, Ficarra was assaulted by three male suspects following a verbal altercation. A 25-year-old male and a 21-year-old female were also assaulted during this same incident. They went to an area hospital via private vehicles and were treated and released.
