Asian Liaison Unit
The Asian Liaison Unit Is a team of dedicated officers that focuses on the public safety needs of the Asian Community. They facilitate translation services to patrol officers, various investigative units and the community. Their primary focus is to perform outreach and patrol functions to the community and to respond to all citizens needs.
The members of the ALU staff -- sworn and civilian -- speak Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese Cantonese, and Thai. The unit was officially established as the Asian Liaison Unit on March 4, 1996. The Asian Liaison Unit is not a full police station, but the officers are deployed to provide their police service in all districts.
The ALU is an active community-oriented policing unit within the Metropolitan Police Department. Please call upon us! We are here in the community to assist you.
