Seventh District Commander

Commander Willie Dandridge joined the Metropolitan Police Department in October 1988 and served in numerous patrol, investigative and administrative support positions as he progressed through the ranks during his 26-year career with the Metropolitan Police Department. Commander Dandridge was named of Commander of the Seventh District in February 1, 2015. 

Commander Dandridge has been assigned to the Third, Sixth, and Seventh Patrol Districts. Additionally, Commander Dandridge has served in several specialized units, including the Criminal Investigations Division (Homicide Branch); Sixth and Seventh District Detectives Office (AWIK Units); Special Operations Division; Corporate Support Bureau; Regional Operations Command-Command East; Youth Investigations Division; and the Evidence Control Branch.  Commander Dandridge has also served in numerous administrative positions within the Criminal Investigative Division, Homicide Branch and the Corporate Support Bureau.

During his tenure as Commander of the Homicide Branch and the Sixth & Seventh District AWIK Units, Commander Dandridge developed Standard Operating Procedures and substantially increased the unit’s closure rate. Commander Dandridge was instrumental in the roll-out and development of the Youth Investigations Division’s Missing Persons Section, an implementation that substantially increased the missing persons case closure rate.  Commander Dandridge was also the architect of “Operation Fight Back,” a program that provides an array of city services to address quality-of-life concerns, making those communities safer places to live, shop, work, play and visit.

Commander Dandridge holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Southwest Christian University, Terrell, TX; he furthered his studies at Lubbock Christian University, Lubbock TX.
