At approximately 12:51 am, on Sunday, October 9, 2005, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 4200 block of 7th Street, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers were directed to respond to the front of 4272 7th Street, SE, where officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Bryan Clinton Turner Jr., of the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, SE, was subsequently transported to the Howard University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:41 am.

This case was closed on Thursday, January 19, with the arrest of 20-year-old Carlton Edwards, of the 1400 block of First Street, SW. He has been charged with Murder I while Armed.
