Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced the arrest of Reynard Cook who was wanted in connection with a 2007 homicide that occurred in the 4900 block Quarles Street, NE and a 2012 homicide that occurred in the 3300 block of Alden Place, NE.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at approximately 6:10 am, police responded to the rear of 4900 Quarles Street, NE. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, but could not find signs consistent with life. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 32-year-old Nacarto Gladden of Northeast, Washington, DC.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at approximately 7:22 pm, police responded to the 3300 block of Alden Place, NE, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. On Sunday, May 20, 2012, the victim, who had been hospitalized since the shooting, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 30-year-old Yolanda Stone of Northeast, Washington, DC.
On Friday, May 10, 2013, officers from the State College Pennsylvania Police Department arrested 29-year-old Reynard Cook on unrelated charges in their jurisdiction. On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, Mr. Cook was returned to the District of Columbia and transported to the Homicide Branch for processing. He has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the homicides of Nacarto Gladden and Yolanda Stone.
