Vehicle of Interest Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run: 3500 Block of 14th Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit seeks the public's assistance in locating a vehicle and driver associated with a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at approximately 6:24 am.

A dark colored sports utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling northbound in the 3500 block of 14th Street, Northwest toward Parkwood Place, Northwest.  As the vehicle came to the intersection, a pedestrian who was crossing the street using a marked crosswalk was struck.  The SUV then fled the crash scene without making their identity known.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.  The decedent was identified as 54-year-old Jacqueline Cole, of Northwest, DC.
