Updated with Video Suspect Sought in an Unarmed Bank Robbery Offense: 5700 Block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to an Unarmed Bank Robbery, which occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Capitol One Bank located in the 5700 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.


At approximately 1:50 pm, the suspect entered the bank at the listed location. Once inside, he approached the teller and passed a note demanding money.  The teller complied and the suspect fled with US currency. 


The suspect, seen in the below picture, is described as a black male, in his mid-30’s. He has a medium complexion with dark spots on his face. He is further described as being 6’1” to 6’3” in height, approximately 180 pounds and has a slender build.


The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below and in this video:


Anyone who has information regarding this case should call law enforcement at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information can be submitted through the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC is currently offering a reward up to $5,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a bank robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
