Two Arrests Made in Homicide on 13th Place, SE - UPDATE: Third Suspect Apprehended

Wednesday, January 4, 2006

At approximately 1:15 pm, on Saturday, December 31, 2005, 15-year-old Jon Allen Jr., of the 3300 block of 14th Place, SE, was shot and killed while in the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE.


At approximately 8:45 pm, on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Branch officially charged a 17-year-old District male juvenile with Murder One in connection with the case. At approximately 12:30 am, on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, 18-year-old Robert Kelsey Jr., of the 1300 block of Fairmont Street, NW, surrendered himself to detectives at the Violent Crimes Branch and was also charged with Murder One in connection with the case.

The investigation into this homicide is continuing, and police are seeking at least one additional suspect.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.


The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
