Traffic Fatality: 5500 Block of Central Avenue, Southeast

Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the 5500 block of Central Avenue, Southeast.

The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 9:49 pm, the operator of a 2004 Saturn was traveling westbound in the 5500 block of Central Avenue, Southeast. The decedent crossed the street, outside of the crosswalk, in the listed location and was then struck by the 2004 Saturn. The decedent was later was later pronounced dead. The operator of the Saturn remained on the scene.

The decedent has been identified as 49 year-old Ramona Williamson, Southeast, DC.
