TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Race4Respect 5k & Kids Run

On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the Race4Respect 5k & Kids Run will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration.

Site Set-up Street Closures

The following streets will be closed from 2:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 14th Street, NW to 9th Street, NW

13th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

12th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

11th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

10th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

Route Information

Traffic Closures (Approximately): 8:45 am

Race start time: 9:00 am

Traffic open: 11:00 am

The race will form on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 13th & 12th Streets, NW, and proceed over the following route:

East on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 3rd Street, NW

South on 3rd Street, NW to Independence Avenue, SW

West on Independence Avenue, SW to 7th Street, SW

U-turn at 7th Street, SW reverse direction to travel east on Independence Avenue to 4th Street, SW

South on 4th Street, SW to D Street, SW

East on D Street, SW to 3rd Street, SW

North on 3rd Street, SW to Constitution Avenue, NW

West on Constitution Avenue, NW and merge onto Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

West on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to the Start/Finish line

The public should expect parking restrictions along the route and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked along the route and in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions. Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
